OCC’s Mission:
To heal ourselves and our world—one nervous system at a time.
At Origins Collaborative Care we believe we’re all one human family traveling this journey together, and there’s no burden too heavy to bear when shared with others. The mission of OCC extends beyond healing our physical bodies. Safety and connection are biological imperatives. For mammals, and especially humans, relational safety is as much of a survival concern as physical safety. We need to feel safe in relationship with ourselves and others in order to be in a state of healing and repair. Safety is at the core of all healing. Personal issues such as physical illness, stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, isolation and interpersonal conflict, as well as systemic issues such as racism, oppression, sexism, homophobia (all forms of hatred), political unrest, corporate greed, poverty, crime, addiction, and even climate change, are all symptoms of a dysregulated autonomic nervous system (perceived threat and disconnection) playing out in both our personal lives and on a collective level. Safety is the antidote, and we heal in community.
The world needs you and the unique gifts you can bring from a place of good health, safety, connection, compassion, and belonging. The ripple effects of this kind of healing are what’s needed on our planet — right now more than ever. Restoring your health and regulating your autonomic nervous system will benefit you and everyone around you. It’s the most powerful thing any of us can do to make a difference — for ourselves, our family and loved ones, our community, and the world.
